Featured Replies

Do the bushes wind in and out fairly easily then?

Not massively corroded and stuck to the aluminium?

err yes.... be carefull, i had huge problems with mine, they were corroded in and i ended up smasheing one of my consoles into a million pieces:)

Myself and a few other people have asked this question and never really got a definate answer.

Another 'stupid question':

Why don't you trust Skoda to do it??

i am actually a technician , so would/should ideally do them myself , but as i dont have access to the tool and its a PITA to get the car into the workshop , i would rather have someone from the forum who i know has done them before carry out the job , plus Lummox will be cheaper i'm sure ;)

although tomorrow i will be seeing what special tools we have in the workshop that may do the job

and don't forget , it isn't just a case of removing the bush and putting the new one in any old how , it has to be AFAIK fitted in a certain position , i'm sure Lummox will clarify that

and as Tom said if it goes wrong , it makes a mess of the console

plus one of the forum member recently found out that some Skoda dealers don't like fitting the bushes because "they've had problems in the past" i.e. they fooked the job up

I find it hard to believe every single Polo/Ibiza/Fabia doesn't destroy it's tyres with the standard bushes - my wishbones can just whack side to side as I gon on the throttle and the brakes!

well i've found enough Ford specialist tools to cobble together a tool to pull out and refit the Cupra bushes
