Washed the car today and....

....felt the rear carpets. Sure enough they were slighty damp (both sides) and water was sat on top of the door seals. Dammit.

No flooding but moisture under the floor mats. I'm sure it would get a lot worse in time.

Yet another trip to the dealer with my 3rd warranty claim. I've only had the car a month.

In a way I'm kind of glad it's done it now rather than later as my original warranty expires next month.

Sigh.

Should have got the Mondy, mate :P:rofl::rofl::rofl:

The garage has not fixed it yet...it's booked in for next wednesday.

I imagine they'll do the usual fix of opening up the inner rear doors and resealing them. They sounded like they'd heard what I was telling them so many times before when I was booking it in.

Mondeo wise, they are big....far too big for me at present but that wont always be the case. The one I was chasing was debadged but not red. :)

It didn't smoke much either despite him giving it some welly. I was impressed.

I wonder how many faults have been recorded for the Mondeo (in forums)...bet it's a much longer list than the fabia

The list is not big in terms of variety but certain problems are very frequent. Injector failure being the most common. Nearly all the reviews on Parkers have people complaining of dodgy injectors that Ford can't fix. Others complain of rusty doors and failed rear suspension bushes. Poor mpg seems to be associated with the injector problems which need re-calibrating by Ford over and over again before they get it right.

I think Chris has been lucky to have one that's been fault free.

just booked mine into white dove in cardiff to be done. really damp and smelly

I've not got that far yet.....it's only mildy damp. I first noticed it after washing the car. All the water from the hosepipe must have overwhelmed the door carriers.

Trouble is, now every time it rains (all the time at the moment...bloody Britain) the door seals seems to be wet on top and the door card is wet underneath.

Does the inner carrier seal just degrade or fail gradually? What's it made from?

Ok, picked car up this evening and they've resealed ALL 4 door carriers, not just the rear ones. I wonder if this is standard practice now to do all of them?

I also got my heater fresh air flap replaced as it was doing random things. Hot air when the dial was low and cooler air further up.

Now the only thing I've got to figure out is why the car steams up like buggery when I turn the air con off after using it for a few miles. Condensation on the heater matrix? All I know is I could hardly see after a few minutes of it being off. Bloody thing.

Air re-circulation switched on?

Damp drying out?

Air re-circulation switched on?

Nope, it was set to fresh air only. :(
