IAT (intake air temperature)

Featured Replies

Hi. I own a Skoda Fabia 1.4 16v (74kw) 2001.

I can't find the IAT sensor.. do you know where it is? if you could give me an Image or a photo of where it is I would be very thankful.

byebye

it's combined with the map sensor, iirc it's bolted the the left hand end of the intake manifold(back of engine)

I thought it was her...(look at the images)

You aren't seriously thinking of doing the resistor mod to a 1.4 are you?

well... it not exactly the resistor.. but it is allmost the same.. just another version.. why?shouldn't I?? many people say that is a good product..

They just cause over fueling, waste of time and money.

but why people say that it is a MUST do?.. what do you think I should do? Remap? I all ready have a BMC filter

Where do people say that? Not seen it on here. I wouldn't bother with a remap on a 1.4 as it'll gain maybe 5bhp. Effort would be better spent saving weight and improving handling if you really must mod a 1.4. Also if you have vagcom you may be able to tweak the timing for higher octane fuel using custom settings or lemmiwinks yourself.

so you think that the remap is a waste of money?

I don't think they're a waste of money but on a 1.4 I think they are poor VFM. You would get more noticable gains from weight saving. If you want to tune the engine though you're better off with something different.

I want to improve the engine performance... so where do you think I shuold start?

And what should I do to save weight?

just looked at the pictures, that is the sensor! if you are going to 'meddle' with it be carefull, half of that sensor is the map sensor, which is used by the ecu to calculate engine load by measureing the pressure in the manifold, it hasthis instead of a MAF
