Rear Brakes 1.2 HTP Fabia

Featured Replies

Just wondering does anybody know at what average milage should you change the rear brakes (Shoes not disc and pads) on the Fabia 1.2.

Had Disc and pads changed on the front at 30k mainly because 1 of the discs was damaged. Now at 40k and car is due to be tested in April. Should I wait for the report/possible failure or just change the rear brakes now and give them time to settle in?

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

hi there,

as long as there are no faults with the rears (ie binding, etc) they should last for around 70,000 miles.;)

Agreed, last for ages.

Great thanks.

Will just put it in for the test in April and see what happens.

Another agreed, rear shoes can last frigging ages, 100k+ not uncommon. :)

So for a service the usual oil change (full syntetic), oil filter, air and pollen filter.

Should have asked in the previous post also as to wether I should again change the Brake fluid as the car is now coming up to 4 years old?

I like to change brake fluid every 2 years tbh.

Had the back brakes adjusted. Mechanic said there is about another 20K left on them.

That would bring them up to around 65K miles.
