whilst braking, mainly heavy please note, ever since I can remember with my Octy 2, I've always had a slightly coarse/rough sound from the brakes. Don't get me wrong, its not a grinding noise but more like as if the pads have more metal in them than normal. The cars covered 24,000 miles and is coming upto 18 months old. The pads still look ok, for what you can see through the alloys. Can anyone shed any light on this at all ?

Sounds like a similar noise to mine then, I have had the car for almost a year, and only noticed this noise in the last few months. Cars almost on 29K.

Can't say I've noticed the noise before, but it doesn't sound like somethings wrong, just as you say like theres too much metal in them.

Interestingly, I also seem to notice it more in the first few miles, after that, its as if they get up to operating temperature.

Hi Paul, thought I was going mad, being the only one to have noticed this. I've noticed that after the first few miles the noise isn't so bad, just seems strange though ......... :confused:

The inner pad wears more than the outer one if the set up is the same as the octy MK I.

Could just be rust on the brake surface or as you said the pad compound.

25K grinding sound from front brakes too. Is going in anyway for a new high level brake light as it has water in it!
