Fabia vrs front os console bush.

Featured Replies

hey people,

Firstly sorry for the poor quality pics (my cam is rubbish).

Basically the console bush on the drivers side of my 2004 54 vrs is starting to show signs of splitting.

Is this normal for a car that has only covered 26k?

you can just about make out the black line on the photo which is infact the start of a split in the rubber.

just wondering if this would be classed as "wear and tear" or is it covered by warrenty?

thanks in advance

john

my console bushes went at 63,000 miles (my car is still under warranty as it's less than 2 years old (unlimited miles for two years) and skoda refused to pay up... I hat to pay for them to be replaced myself.... you may have better luck though, due to the lower mileage.... I was quoted £300 at one skoda dealer for replacement arms, but had just the bushes done at another skoda dealer for £150...

someone on here has done a guide to replacing these yourself... have a search, and good lucj with the warranty claim! (you'll need it)

edit: i'd hide your sig too, any modifications and the warranty is void. big brother is watching.

good point, cheers mate.

Its a common fault.. especially with the vRS.. some dealers will do it under warranty (it should be)

But i would consider getting cupra bushes fitted instead.. they dont have those silly voids in and tighten up the handling nicely

that bush is worse than mine at 41k miles , what you been doing to get it like that ?

Update:

just picked the car up. supprise supprise the garage have said that there is nothing wrong with the bushes!

do you think this is the garage trying to get out of fixing it?

cheers john

if they were going to change them under warranty , there may have been a problem when Skoda inspect the bushes after they are returned to them , as they aren't totally U/S just a bit split, they could then throw the warranty claim out and the dealer ends up out of pocket

or they just couldn't be bothered

i think they just couldnt be bothered as another dealer had a look at them today and said straight away thatr they were knackered and its booked in for them replacing next wednesday.

cheers for your advice mate.

Exactly ! Telfords in Carlisle = mediocre at best , Simpsons in Colne = Excellent

Chris, My door card is still rattling x Simpsons in Colne = Problem sorted

North West meet...Simpsons Colne!!

The bushes are rubbish when brand new

At least if they rotated them 90 degrees there would be something to stop them from banging sise to side.

Get solid Seat Cupra bushes. Just got mine but not gor round to fitting them yet
