Oil in pipes joining DV - Octy VRS

Featured Replies

I recently replaced the tired Bosch DV on my octy VRS, when disconnected the hoses that attach to it I was suprised to find traces of oil in them - has anyone experienced the same? Is this normal?

Changing the DV for a Turbo Dynamics Viper valve really has improved performance - I have a feeling the old DV wasnt operating correctly and was allowing boost pressure to recirculate to easily??!! Performance would appear improved in 4th and 5th gear, with obvious boost being available at low revs when going through the gears.

A little oil in the TIP and boost hose is quite normal.

Yep mine was the same.

On the subject of recirculating valves, I fitted a forge 007p a while back. I fitted it the same way as the original (with the little vacume/boost controll pipe thingy to the right) but have seen a picture of someone elses where they have turned it round so that the little thin vacume/boost pipe thingy is on top. I know this must seem like a retarded question but I was just wondering who had it the wrong way around, me or the person in the photo?

I'm going to go and sit in the corner.

Works both ways, only the vacuum pipe connection is important.
