new head lamp bulbs

Featured Replies

The new philips extreme power bulbs in my octy vrs have made a massive differenceto the amount of light on the road these things are well worth the up grade.£24 for a set of h4 from auto bulbs with free blue side lights thrown in.I cant praise these enough auto express run a test on them in the philips light tunnel in Germany and they rekon they give 80% more light than standard bulbs .But they said this is a conservative estimate i can vouch for that.

I've only just bought a set of Osram Silverstar bulbs so it'll probably be a while before I'm looking to buy again. I'd have preferred the Extreme Power bulbs but they were out of stock everywhere I looked.

The Osram's are a huge improvement over the standard bulbs my car had.

Hi there. Are you using the philips extreme power bulbs in a mk2 octavia? I'm also presuming that auto bulbs is an online shop is that right. I always like to have the road well lit so could be interested in some.

My Phillips Extreme bulbs arrived on Monday.

Initial impressions are that they give a very white modern look to the headlamps.

Their very bright in the normal dipped beam position (compared to my previous 100W Ring RallyeSport bulbs and previous, previous Osram Silverstars).

However on main beam the RallyeSports are certainly brighter (if a little more yellow in apperance).

Guess it depends how you use your car, I drive a lot of dark country roads and so I'm going to stick with my 100W bulbs for now.

They were also a fraction of the cost of the Phillips bulbs!

£8. the pair from Demon Tweeks ;)
