Hi all, well i tried to remove the front wiper arms to remove the plastic bit ( cant remember the name ) that sits at the bottom of windshield, wanted to check out if any debri in there but i cant remove the arms cos i think they are rusted on??? sprayed some releasing lub on there but still wont come off, do i need some sort of extractor tool to prize them off, any one had this problem....

The arms get tight on the shafts as they are splined and tapered. If you slacken the nuts and then lift the blades off the screen and then rock the arms from side to side they should release. That's how I've always done it and I've never used a puller on any yet.

Thats what i tried but wouldnt budge, looks like they never been off, will put some more release lube on tonight and see....

The guy from National Windscreens who came to fit my replacement screen last week. It took him bloody ages and it was effing freezing

Just to add something else to the discussion, I save myself a lot of agro and just use a little wiper arm puller, pops em off in a jiffy.

Lummox, whats one of them then, where ya get it from....
