vRS Audio origins

Featured Replies

:?: Hi all,

I'm trying to establish who makes the CD changer fitted as standard to the RS and also the speakers, I know the head unit is Grundig and guess the speakers and or changer could be too, think somebody has previously said they thought changer could be Panasonic :?: Anyone know or able to take a look for clues on the equipment (probably all marked up as Skoda :( ).

Reason I ask is that i'm due to pick the RS up in 2 weeks time and on test drives felt that audio was not up to standard of the Alfa i'm getting rid of (despite an extra 2 tweeters), so i'm lining up my specialist to swap out the head unti and possibly speakers, don't see the need to change the changer or start with amps and subbies but

Drpepper,

you are right, its made by panasonic. here is a pic of the unit bottom

this is a bad picture of the connector that's part of the changer, you will need to run a new cable to connect to a panasonic headunit because the stereo has blaupunkt not panasonic connections.

Thanks for that Manny. Will go and see the little man that has done the audio on the last 4 motors I have owned and see what he reckons re: all Panasonic, never had it so not sure of quality compared to likes of Pioneer which I am a big fan of, will take his advise, cheers for the pics though.
