What I have learnt from all of this, and what I will do in future if I buy another new car is to ask for them to give in writing that the car is coming direct from the factory to my exact spec and all extras will be fitted at the factory.

The other things like never being called back etc etc is just them being slackers really. :(

Conversely I would argue that unless otherwise notified at the time of purchase you would expect them to be factory fit.

You really shouldn't let this go mate.

You're dead right mate

This dealer has tried to pull a fast one, and even tried to do that on the cheap.

Hope they get the book thrown at them, you could always try the media as they seem to get things rectified very quickly from big manufacturers.

Might be worth a call to Auto Express as I believe SUK are the target of some comments in the letters page. ;)

You should also keep SUK in the know with what is going. Write everything down, give a letter to the dealer, anything, just make sure you keep records.

I wish you every luck and I hope you get the outcome you, as a customer, quite rightly deserve.

I think you would still be able to reject the car over the bodge fit reversing sensors, so you might want to talk to trading standards.

Hi, I have the 2002 RS version and I am sorry to hear about your trouble. I have a good bit of knowledge in this area and unfortunately the garage can do what they like because if you decide to litigate this matter, Skoda Uk will usually indemnify the garage.

****!!!! To top it all off My wife just told me on the phone that a letter arrived this morning from the police saying I have been done for speeding!!

It was on the morning when I was late to go down and take the vRS down to the garage and it turned out the salesman was on his day off after saying 'see you tomorrow' the night before............ironically I rushed down as I thought I was late and he wasn't even there!!

I shouldn't have had to go down at in the first place!! 67mph in a 50mph stretch.....ARGHHH! 3 points and a fine here I come :(

June/July 2006 was the roll out of the MY2007 Octavia IIRC. There would have also been quite a few pre '07's in stock around the country.

Is there a way to tell which vRS you have. I purchased mine in Sept 2006 but as far as I can tell it doesn't have the mp3 feature. Kind of makes me wonder how old it was.

The most obvious is red brake calipers. Sept 2006 should have been a Stream MP3 I would have thought.
