Bare tension wires in passenger seat belt

Featured Replies

The seat belt tension wires on the front passenger side seat belt socket are exposed - unlike the driver side which is sheathed in plastic.

The dealer says the car left the factory like this - can it be true? There seems to be a chance the wires could rub the bolster on the seats (VRS).

Are all Octy 2s like this?

They are indeed - the sheath on the driver's side is to cover up the wiring for the seatbelt sensor.

rang the dealers about this the other day and the ones that were in the show room were the same i think there is a chance they will rub through

mine is the same also ... perhaps if they do rub through Skoda will be liable for re-upholstery?

I wonder if the covers are available, I mean they must be available for

LHD cars.
