Oversized Maf

Featured Replies

what do i have to change to get a 3" Maf and airbox, can the top turbo inlet pipe be changed, i think the only cars that run the 3" maf are k04 equipped so would be a bigger inlet pipe, just wondering if it can be done for little money, just wanna try it for a while if it can be done :)

Why would you run a 3" Maf if, at the K03s power levels, the stock maf is not a restriction (as far as i know)?

Are you going to use a stock maf with a 3" housing or an original 3"Maf?

stock maf with 3" housing, was thinking it would just be the end pipe size that was different on the inlet pipe hence the hardness in fitting

Ahem. I have a Forge TIP suitable for the LCR and S3. (K04)

But that would fit onto a K04 would it not?

I Could be wrong, but the stock maf is designed to work with the stock housing, and there is a mod to make it work with a larger one. I think i read something about it somewhere a long time ago (probably vwvortex), so double check it. A larger diameter would reduce the air speed (larger volume) which should not cool the maf as much as the smaller housing, and in theory should give different readings. I dont remember if it's a software or hardware mod. Maybe i'm all wrong?

Knowing Trevor.... That won't be long ...

he he not worth it though just go alot bigger then that, need to get mine rolling roaded again :)

There is a Hybrid K04, Which will sit comfortably at 270-280hp, and 300hp at a push, you'd need to modify the essentials of course. Can be done.... relatively cheap for the work involved. (ish)

where from and how much snoopie? not out of a cupra r is it?
