how close do you think I was to a blow out?!

Featured Replies

hey all, just replaced my worn front tyres, and the tyre dude pointed out a massive slit on the inside of my tyre, right where the tyre wall would meet the tread.... no outside signs of stress at all!!

As an expert in the field of fscking up tyres, I think it'd probably have developed a pinhole leak first. I have piccies somewhere of the "roasted" inside of one of the Bridgestone's from my Subaru. I wouldn't mind, but I used it for 6 months after the first incident thinking it was fine... Just as well I normally drive like a wuss then. :roll

Doesnt look to bad, have seen far worse damage and the tyre was still inflated.

good job it did not go on the return from the cat and fiddle!

may have explained the odd look on sunday

lol... may have contributed to how slidey it was at the front eh? ;) or maybe it was the lack of tread! :rolleyes:anyway some new cheapie federals on for it's last few weeks in my company, I'll report how crap they are after a few hundred miles...

and yes iain, I'm glad it didn't go on the way home too! 140 miles up the M6! :o

as for a meet at the lakes (any of the lakes in Cumbria pusscat) I'm on hols next week, so I'll have time to plan a route.... I'll try to make it happen before the summer tourists get here.......
