Picked up my Fabia VRS tonight after work, I love it!

Just one question -

It has a symphony cd player - i have looked this up on the skoda website and it says this is a

Err, if it gets nicked, it won't fit in anyone elses car?

its got some freaky hidden features (I can't work them on mine though) for example, it will adjust it's volume depending on how fast you're going and the relevant road noise!

Volume thing is already set from factory (a little keenly if you ask me, so needs adjusting down).

It also records Traffic Info, so you can hear it when you want to as opposed to interupting your music, also you can set it to record whilst the car is switched off

I found the Symphony unit to be rubbish. Fiddly to use and couldn't play mp3's.

Soon got it ripped out and replaced with my Kenwood mp3 head unit.

You'll need the fascia plate from Skoda and a radio cage to fit another head unit at the Symphony does not come with one. :)

I would not bother with the plate from Skoda - all it is is a strip of plastic that clips in at the top of the gap that the radio leaves :sorry:

If you do use this you might find that at the bottom where the little cubby hole is you can see behind the front section of plastic!!!

I got a face plate from halfrauds and it hides that bit of the console at the top and bottom of the radio when fitted :D

p.s. i'm running a Sony GT300X with standard front speakers and it sounds a h*ll of a lot better than the symphony did!!!
