Exact model and gearbox code

Featured Replies

Mate of mine is messing around with Elsawin - brings up the question of how to tell what exact sales model, gearbox and final drive codes apply to my car - without going online (which apparently it can't do). Any ideas anyone?

There's a big sticker in the boot, under the carpet, that includes the engine and gearbox codes etc. You'll need a manual to interpret which info is which though, cos there's about 400 characters (20 x 20 grid) on it.

Thanks Ken - I think I saw a link here somewhere last night for decoding those. Just didn't know where to find the sticker.

The Vehicle Data sticker should also be affixed inside the front cover of the Service Schedule, ie vehicle service record booklet.

Thanks guys, found both stickers (one in boot was a bit mucky on account of a leak around boot handle which wasn't cured until I bought it). However, while the gearbox code is there, Elsawin still looks for a final drive code which is not on it. Any ideas?
