Hello Fabia fans

Featured Replies

At its launch I test drove the vRS and was absolutely blow away, so to speak, by the warp factor torque from the 1.9 PD engine.

At long last I've stop procrastinating and am counting down the minutes till Friday coming when I uplift from the Glasgow dealer.

Previous car was an eleven years old Mazda Xedos 6 which in four years of ownership never once let me down. Hope the vRS is as reliable.

Hi there,

Hope I'm posting this correctly. I'm not up-to-speed as yet!

Didn't get my wee Furby on Friday. Why? Read-on.

I requested a cover note from RAC Insurance on Monday and yet by Friday it hadn't arrived in Glasgow. When asked why this should be I was informed that I should have been advised, on Monday, that it takes 4/5 days for a cover note to get to a UK destination. I also should have been told that registered delivery is an option, thereby guaranteeing next day delivery. A bit late now, eh!

Perhaps this is normal procedure for all insurance companies. If so, if your are ever in need of a cover note, urgently, ask the question - when for delivery?

as soon as the dealer rang me and told me my reg number, I rang my insurance (Bell) and after telling them the car wasn't a "Farnia BRS" (wtf!?) they sent out my certificate, and I got it two days later!

You used to be able to have the insurance company send the certificate to the dealer for them to tax it, that's what I did with mine in Swindon when I lived there, not sure if the rules have changed now?

Oh, yes, you're so right! Two weeks in and the BB is reducing already. It's getting even more serious: I keep re-visiting the "members' cars" pages and am slowly being seduced by leather kit from Seat Surgeons. How SWMBO would react doesn't bear thinking about. Watch this space.
