Featured Replies

Just in case :P I havent spotted a thread about it yet so hereby - Top Gear is on at 20:00 on BBC2 today.

Enjoy :P

Last in the series too !

Already!!! Can't be

Making me drool over that old Mustang!

:orb_laugh :orb_laugh What a great way to end the series.....the limo bit had me rolling !!!

Love the limos!

I think our famiy all nearly died, through not being able to breath laughing at the stupid lenght they went to with those limos.

All in all quite a good episode i think.

agree about the limos , very funny   would of been good to see them being put together though

The first two limo sections were very good but the actual drive through london just felt unfunny and a bit embarrasing to watch.

Not sure why you didn't see the Limo Build, Maybe summat to do with "Not doing this at home"????

How many episodes were ther in this series? 5 or 6? Was this because of Hammonds crash , I always thought it lasted longer than this? I have to say this series has been dissapointing overall , with only the occasion flash of brilliance , they can (and have in the past) do better than this. JC seemed unsure when (or indeed if?) they would be back , is there a possibilty that TG has been canned??

Personally if they do another series I'd like to see less stupid stunts (convertible people carriers/Limos ect) and more car reviews and 'road trip' features , especially featuring sporty cars that are in the average persons price range (even if only as a second hand buy) , although I love seeing the exotic stuff getting a good caning too!

Mixed emotions really, quite sad that the series has finished, but overjoyed that we wont need any more "top gear is on in 5 minutes" type threads for a while, Maybe you could post one at 5:25am tomorrow morning to remind me to put my trousers on before going to work too :P

The Lady announcer said during the credits that it will return in the summer,

It definatley seemed shorter than the other series

This season was a little bit to silly IMHO. I think they need to carefully balance the Willliam Woolard "This is how much you'll fit in the boot" Stuff with their general cocking about and fantastically funny lines. They look like they genuinley enjoy making the programme, and it certainly is one of the few things on telly that actually makes me laugh out loud.

We noticed that they had a lot more merciless pi55 taking of each other in this serise which was quite funny, but it would be good to see some more proper car stuff, and a bit less of the general silliness to some degree.

 missed this. was on computer. :o when is this repeated?

Will be downloading this one tonight. Most of the other series have had 10 programmes with one other having 6 if I remember correctly (after Clarkson did his back in).

Didn't someone say on here that they'd signed for another two series?

But I watch it because of the cupid stunts :D

 Which one of the three do you like then?

;)

For me the series has been bitter-sweet.

The stunts have been the funniest thing on TV lately; nothing has made me laugh as much. But in a few cases they've taken it too far. e.g. I could hardly breathe watching them try to collect roadkill for their supper, but the cow thing just ruined a great gag - didn't find it funny at all.

And the studio segments are just tired. :(

And yes, I'll watch the next series.

Agreed. It had me in stitches, although not many car reviews were done as such. Has this year been that thin on the ground in terms of new releases?

Be interesting to know what Hammond said to Tony Blair about road pricing.

Will he have fought our corner or dropped us in it?

I've watched this series, very poor IMHO. I actually prefer 5th gear now, at least that actually has cars on it.

I got the impression that this has become an ego trip for Clarkson et al - "Look how funny we are", no, it is a motoring programme not a comedy. Yes, lighthearted is fine but I expect a car programme to feature more than 1 car (the Mustang) and not a bunch of home made limos.

I have said this before. It need a complete rethink. The present format is now dated, not funny and in need of freshning up. IMO of course

After this series , I tend to agree with you.

5th gear has some good stuff in it, so does vroom.

I like top gear as it has some cool features, but yeah, bit more focus on actual cars would be good. The features are kinda fun every once in a while, but they seem to be almost half the show and they're pushing it a bit too much.

Even the races between say public transport and a car seemed more related to what the content ought to be about in some sense :)

Still, some of it was a laugh :D

In an hour long show, I'm sure they could find a slot to review a new mainstream car. The three of them could even go out and compare it to two rivals. Something along the lines of the TT/Alfa/RX8 comparison they did.

'top gear' is dead, long live 'used car roadshow'!

tg is now, as i see it, a platform for clarkson and the other 2 to massage their egos, yes it is enjoyable to watch their lads own exploits but, as others have written, where are the everyday cars/reviews? i thought this series was ****poor on that front.

ok so used car roadshow features, err used cars but, as a punter interested in daily drives as well as exotics, it recalls some of the older tg programs.

i feel the tg presenters now believe thier own hype and are disappearing up their own fundament.
