Any help greatly appreciated...

Featured Replies

Hi there, as I no longer have a computer of my own I am desperately trying to figure out what I should buy but really don't have a clue.

I need Internet capability (I think just dial-up (does it make a difference?))

Microsoft Office Package

I'm thinking lap-top so as to save space

and finally...as cheap as possible

Any good deals out there

Check out DELL stuff from DMXDIMENSION (dells best deals)

Best bet is to get Office "home" edition.. as its quite expensive on its own.. unless youd be happy with ms works, or whatever they supply

Hmmm, thanks but still expensive...Think I'm going to have a problem here :(

I'm sure something could be sorted, will have a look if I have an old laptop with dialup, and yes you can set the password yourself

HTH

A hundred quid will get you a servicable laptop second hand , and you can run open office for free.

Serviceable??? Open office???

Sorry not up to speed

£10

no seriously.....

You are looking at about £150 for a legal lappy that will work ok, or possibly £100 for one without an OS

  • Author

Ok then £100

Depends what you want to do with it.

That would certainly be an option

yeah but for £100 it is serviceable.

Win 98 will do office, internet and msn.

If would do better running win 2k or a suitable linux distro.
