Hi there i have a 2001 1.4 8valve fabia the problem is the steering. When you turn the wheel fast it goes hard like the power steering cuts out? but normal driving its fine. what could it be any ideas? Thanks Wayner.

Sounds like the power steering sensor. This could be confirmed with vag com. Has it gradually come on over time - as if the sensor has degraded?

A sensor is around £35 off Ebay, and takes around 1/2 hour (1 hour if time taken) to refit. There's even a pictorial guide on here.

With the saving made, you could join freedom and support the club for just £12.
