stutter

Featured Replies

this is my second message today, should have read more first!!!

i read with interest about the stutter on the vrs and other diesels. i wonder, has anyone experienced this on a standard 1.4 fabia (not vrs).my wife loves the new car (56) but this hesitation in accelerating and lumpy tickover is a real downer and destroys any confidence in reliability.the frustrating thing is that it doesn't show on a diagnostic.

does the 1.4 have this vgr valve that is being mentioned? how do i convince our dealer to carry out the mod and if i did it would it void the warranty???

No, no and no.

If your 1.4 is "stuttering" I would get the fault codes read by the dealer and go from there. It's under warranty so it should be sorted

There haven't been any reports of the stutter in 1.4 TDi's that I can recall but then there aren't so many of them about and certainly not that many owners of them on here.

The 1.4 will have an EGR valve, whether it has the same effect as it does on the 1.9TDi Euro 4 engines I don't know.

If the dealer carries out any approved modifiactions then these will be covered by your warranty.

Whan you say "standard 1.4 fabia" what do you mean exactly? 1.4 MPI, 1.4 SDI, 1.4 PD TDI........

Just to clarify :) :)
