hi everybody,

does anybody know where i can get hold of the book for my 04 mk1

octavia.I cant work out how the fiddly bits work,like the cruise control and the display that changes by scrolling through on the stalk (clock ,temp etc )

You can get it from the dealer..

Is this what you are after?

Cruise.

- Flick the switch on the top of the left stalk to the on position

- Get to the speed you want then press and hold briefly the top of the toggle switch on the left stalk.

- To speed up press the toggle up and to slow down press the toggle down

- Pressing clutch or brake should cancel cruise operation.

The display:

- Toggle on right scrolls up and down through it.

- Button under that stalk:

- Press it momentarily to jump between trip 1(this journey) and trip 2 (total)

- Press and hold it to reset trip 1 or trip 2 (it will reset the one you are on)

thanks cheezemonkai but the only controls i seem to have for the cruise control are on the left of the steering wheel. these say set/res/cancel.

The cruise control is operated by the sliding switch on the front of the stalk AND the button on the end. The latter is used to set the desired cruise speed. You can order an Octavia Owner's Manual from a Skoda dealer. The part number is S6356102120 and the price around £5.
