Classic Car

Featured Replies

Later in the year Im thinking of getting an older car as project to do over winter. I want something in reasonable condition, nothing that needs a total rebuild though. Heres my list of potential cars

VW Beetle Late 60-early 70s

Ford Fiesta Mk1

Citroen 2 CV

My top choice would be the Beetle and in green, I did see one go past me in the other direction in green the other week, looked like the rear wing had some hammer though.

Someone who brought a 1969 Beetle a few years back told me original condition Beetles are getting quite hard to get.

It would only get used on occasional weekends between May and September so milage would be minimal.

Any advice thanks.

Looking at the first two only undertake if you are good at welding ;)

I agree. That's what finally put me off classic cars. I loved tinkering with and driving them, but even those that are sold with '...no rust anywhere!' are either miracle cars not made of any metal found on this planet or are made entirely of filler.

Not trying to put you off or anything...
