"Flat Spot" on my VRS from cold

Featured Replies

Anyone any suggestion for a flat spot when my VRS is cold.... cool more accurately.... I had a similar problem on my old Saab which was caused my dirty injectors, so I've tried using STP injector cleaner which improved it while I was running on that tankful, but as soon as I refuelled the problem seemed worse.

Some mornings it almost stalls pulling out of the driveway. Once it's warm it's back to it's rip-roaring, tiresmoking self.

Try search facility using search words: "stutter" & "Octavia". You should see a lot of threads relating to this issue. There are a number of fix theories, so I would read a few to eliminate ones that you may have already tried.

In the morning start your car wait one minute till that big fan noise stops and the revs drop below 1000 rpm then drive off :)

New coolant temperature sensor should sort that. DIY job....

do u have a cold air induction kit fitted to your car this causes the cold start splutter it did it on mine took the cold air intake off hey presto problem solved.

it is very strange that mine used to suffer from this but since having the battery, fuse box and loom replaced it has never done it since and now drives perfectly from cold.

Viggen boy did you try my suggestion
