Does anyone know what the pump timing figures should be, as shown in measuring blocks, the tdi timing graph shows the timing as slightly retarded, so i'd like to adjust it to it's optimum.

Actually, being old enough to remember when vernier timing pulleys for belt-driven OHC first came out (on petrol carbie engines), I'm finding myself wondering whether you can achieve a finer adjustment of fuel timing on a diesel than "one tooth", although this may not apply with unit injectors or common rail systems? (I know the difference in the fuel rail etc, but I'm thinking of fuel timing technologies).
