When should I take my Octavia in for its first service? I know that this is supposed to be done at 15000 km, but the car is 9 months old now, and it has only travelled 6000 km. Is there a max. time before the first service?

It depens if your car is set to "variable" or "fixed" servicing. Mine is variable. It means that car will warn me to go to do service. It should be max 30.000 km, but may not let it pass 2 years. My dealer says that some cars come on fixed some on variable, without anybody asking them anything.

If fixed, it should be 15.000 km or 1 year, whatever comes first. Why? Mileage isn't always the main factor. There are many things going on inside the engine, even without running it (engine oil humidity, water condensation in break fluid, belts deterioration etc.)

So, go check at your dealer the type of servicing your car is on and then respect it. Otherwise, warranty will be void.
