Blaupunkt woodstock 52 memory card

Featured Replies

Does anyone use the Blaupunkt Woodstock 52 DAB headunit with a memory card in it? I saw somewhere that the maximum size you can use is 256 MB but cant find it again. 2GB memory cards are really cheap now and wanted to know if anyone is using a larger card in this head unit (which is great by the way)

Any help would be great,

Ben

I have used a 1 gig card in mine with no problems

i have 1gig card with no probs, i've tried a few 2gig cards, both SD and MMC with no success..

I have read that 1gig is the max it will cope with, but that wasn't from the manufacturer, so not gospel..

SD flash memory cards main features:

SD flash memory cards are small re-useable solid state devices for storing MP3 music or any other types of data files.

SD cards loaded with MP3 audio files can be played back on Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54 (1GB max.) , Woodstock DAB53 (512MB max.), Woodstock DAB52 (256MB max.), Nashville DAB35 (512MB max.), Memphis MP66, Travelpilot Lucca MP3 (2GB max.) and Casablanca MP56 models

Well it plainly isn't limited to 256MB as a number of people use 1GB with success.

It will be fussy how it's formatted though to get 1GB to work properly - needs to be FAT16, and Windows XP formatter may not be compatible in my experience.

Use this specific SD formatting utility from Panasonic, works for me on 1GB cards :D - SD Memory Card Formatting Software | SD/SDHC Memory Card | Digital AV | Product Support | Support | Panasonic Global

Did you recieve the paper codes with the unit or was it like mine just supplied with an SD code card ? I am trying to find out if the unit will work with the standard aerial and split the signal into the normal aerial input and DAB, has anybody tried it ?

Sparky2, using the standard aerial you cannot split the signal because of the amp in the base of the oem aerial.

I used the combined DAB/FM/AM antenna from blaupunkt with great success.

What is a SD code card?

I'm using a passive external rear-window glass-mount aerial which works fine

Does the 2002ish Octy actually have active aerial booster in the aerial base as standard?? I understood that it doesn't at that age..

:) Hi Richm, the SD card is for the woodstock DAB53 and it comes with the lock code on an SD card, you can insert a normal SD card with mp3 recorded and then rec/play a digital signal via DAB, I have seen the ext aerials that are for DAB but they are expensive at around

ah.. ok :) code card not relevant to DAB52 then ..

:) Just looked at the radio and its a DAB35, autoleads do an aerial splitter which I think splits the DAB and normal feeds.

HI THERE RICHM ive regged just to post a quick reply here as it was the only info google through up with regards to sd cards and this unit so will be helpful to others with the same unit and questions.

ive chucked 1 gig sd`s and a 2 gigsd card (corsair) in this and it works fine. however if i formatted them using windows it would not entertain them , but if i used the panasonic util you posted they have worked flawlessly.

i`m just going to try an 8 gig sdhc card in there, i very very much doubt it will work, but may as well, this is the down side to having an sd reader in the machine as opposed to a usb port.

with the usb port you can insert an sdhc reader into it and it will then theoretically be limitless as to the size of memory card you use. my new sony bluetooth headunit has a usb port and i plug a sdhc compatible reader into it and relevant 8 gig sdhc card its bang on, as well as the ability to read external hdds, all very good with the advent of bus powered cheapo 2.5 inch note book hard drives as well as the size of sdhc cards increasing and prices coming down.

will post back shortly if the 8 gig card works ;)

thanks for the info and utiility :D

it didnt lol ;)

hmm.. interesting you get 2GB card to work, maybe I will have another try :D

hi yes, deffo , 2 gig corsair sd card 133x high speed.

havent got a 4 gig to hand but it stands to reason it should read a 4 gig card also with it being the same class of card, 8 gig`s become true sdhc (class 6 and above i think)

one can only try but the missus is fine with 2 gig , plenty of albums there and no need for cds :D

best regards

sorry to but in have anyone got the blaupunkt Window areal for DAB

Blaupunkt - Antennas - - Autofun DAB

just want to know if it works well i had a jvc window areal plug in to my woodstock did not work that good tho or is it the reception where i live south bristol

Bristol isn't a good area for DAB reception, especially (surprisingly) round the M5 between Almondsbury and Cribbs. I'm not sure specifically round south

Bristol, but I have a JVC external through-glass aerial and works fine in other areas where I am east of Bath most of the time. Round that stretch of M5 there is virtually no reception with my setup..
