This happened to mine (2001 1.4 8v classic) headlights flickering, dash light flickering and power steering light showing. took it back to dealer who sent it back to skoda. They replaced sensor and problem solved however watch for the heating system as mine had to have thermostat replaced very soon after.If your garage replace heating sensor then they should replace the whole thermosat too. by the way does your power steering go very heavy at slow speeds mine did before fixing and yes luckily I bought another warranty
