can anyone tell me what figures i should have for optimum timing on my engine, engine code ALH 1.9tdi, vag-com says it's retarded, what should it be adjusted too.

I would never adjust it with Vag-Com. Always adjust it mechanically. Only the very slighest adjustment is needed The pump is on a kind of slide so slacken the bolts and turn the pump ever so slightly then check again with vag-com.

you can go all the way to the line in vag-com but I would not advise going any further.

You are aiming for optimum timing not advanced timing. There will be marks on the pump and housing these are not just the best but are a very good indication

Hi, i know the timing is manually adjusted, but i wondered, if there was any skoda tec's that could give me the figures from the measuring blocks, so that i have something specific to work with.
