If i have torrents downloading and i close the laptop lid (sleep mode) will they continue?

Bummer. Spose i'll have to leave it plugged in and open - cheers dude ;)

Or maybe config the laptop power management so when you close the lid, it doesn't go into sleep mode and the torrents keep on downloading.

Whether this is a suitable solution though... :rubchin: ;):D

It could work ;)

Thing is, not all laptops enjoy the lack of being able to disperse heat when the screen is closed (read: HDD is active and heats up but lack of cooling).

It's probably fine if you have a bit of airflow underneath the laptop though :)

I did this. I turned off the sleep, left it running, but turned off LCD.

I propped the laptop up and let air underneath - was fnie this morning.

Phew.

i leave mine downloading over night. windows power manager in control panel lets you customize power thingys. I just make it turn the monitor off after 30 mins.
