Thinking of replacing the front and rear speakers as the front passanger side is buzzing from abuse from previous owner.

Thinking of getting alpine speakers about

The search function would bring up the numerous threads about this very subject.

Give it a whirl, you might be surprise what you can find

Yup. I posted a thread on this here. Not sure about the rear speakers, but the fronts are deceptive: the OEM ones are 12cm IIRC, but the "hole" they fit in is 16.5cm and they use a cone-shaped spacer to have the 16.5 to 12cm reduction.

I also posted a how-to here. Unfortunately, the pics have gone, but should give you an idea. Removing the door panel can be a bit tricky.

i am going to replace the front speakers in my fabia soon 16.5cm is the size you want you will need a speaker adapter i think you can make one out of mdf if you would prefer that to plastic that what i am going to do

hey stu i did not abuse the speakers in the roda lol

how is she doing for you?

Just fitted DLS speakers 16.5 cmin the frontofmy Fabia. Running from a DLS amp with sub in boot. Vast improvement in sound in the car.

I should add not easy to fit, clearance between back of speaker and window bar is quitetight. No more than65 mm, check depth of speakers before buying.

Personally I find Alpine quite harsh, so although I run an Alpine head unit I always use "warmer" speakers. Thats personal taste though!
