replacing front wheel bearing fabia 1.4 16v

Featured Replies

Hi, has anyone replace a front wheel bearing on a 2001 fabia 1.4 16v?

It has an abs sensor inset in the hub casting. I have removed the screw securing the sensor, does it just lift out - it doesn't seem to want to?

Also, do I need to use a puller to pull the hub off the drive shaft?

Thanks

If you do a search there is a few threads on it.

You need a special puller really to separate the bearing and the hub and to mount it correctly without damaging the back casing.

Thanks - I am having trouble getting the abs sensor out of the hub casting, I presume when the screw is removed it just pulls out? It seems to be seized in - I guess I will have to have a new one.

I have not seen it yet but am lead to believe the bearing is coming complete with housing so should not need a press/puller?

Thanks

The sensor does pull out yes.

The bearing is complete with the drive flange and not the housing, its requires fitting into the housing.
