Fabia 1.4 MPI 68bhp - Intake

Hello people.

It's my second post but I'm already making a thread for the "experts"

While browsing the net looking for a way to "heal" my mom's car lack of fresh air, I found this guide for VRs intake.

I already have the prices and ways to get "new" second-hand parts from a friend that has a Cupra and changed just about everything in his engine.

The new Seat parts would cost

6LL 129 621 - 12.89 + IVA (tax)

6LL 129 618 - 22.85 + IVA (tax)

Here's my doubt:

I want to add to this intake a K&N box air filter and just give the car a bit more breathing space (even if my mom will not like it ). Will this modification work on the 1.4MPI-68bhp engine? Everything looks just about the same...

There's also another thing bothering me... there's something connected (underneath) to the intake tube... is that some kind of sensor or air intake for other area of the engine?

*in case people ask I drive a Volvo S60 D5 modded to about 210bhp, upgraded with Evolve bodyparts and rims and some other bits.

The Petrol Engine bay, Air intake e.t.c is different to the diesel models, so probably not. A CAI will make a big difference to the 8v in the summer. It won't be able to breathe very well anyway so I wouldn't bother
