Problem using Parrot CK3100

Featured Replies

I am happy with the operation of my CK3100 (using a Nokia 6280), but I do have just one problem. I can use voice control to pick up and select a contact, but I cannot choose the number I want from that contact's list of numbers. After the parrot repeats the contact, I speak "mobile" (for which I have created a voice command) but it always replies "office" - and then dials office. Have I missed something?

Try retraining both office and mobile. It sounds like the voice recognition has a bit of a paddy.

Yeah should work - I use it on mine a fair bit due to direct line vs mobile vs private numbers for some people.

At what point should I actually be saying 'mobile' - before it comes back with 'office' or after? I have tried it both ways. Sometime, if I say it after, it comes up with 'voice recognition failed'.

There are two sections to it

First the name, then the second level keyword. Must admit it was a tad tricky to get it right initially

Hmm, still no success. It seems my phone (a Nokia 6280) is not compatible. It selects the default number, regardless of what I say. If I change the default number on the phone, it chooses the new default. I thought it was compatible with Nokia phones?

Got a 6230 and 6230i, they both are.

Yes it's compatible with Nokia phones but it varies wildly. On the 6230 it autosyncs the phone book as well, on a different Nokia I had it didnt.

Worth checking their site for updates perhaps.

You have to speak Posh for the software to recognise the words. I imitated a BBC accent from the 1950`s and i was all set. Guess it didn`t like the Yorkshire twang!

What about tweaking your phone book to cater for this...... i.e. ''Pete Smith, Office'' and ''Pete Smith, Mobile'' under their respective numbers. Then voice-tag them accordingly with your Parrot. Not as neat, I know, but at least you can use your current phone handsfree with your popular numbers....

Nice idea, but I synch my phone with Outlook and my PDA. The phone is near full and any tweaking like this will soon fill it up and add unnecessary duplication to Outlook.

Thats the exact problem I had with my W850i. Ended up putting on my Rad Op Voice (any ex-Forces will know what I mean).
