what does the VRS actually stand for?

my mate reacons its volkswagon racing systems... i reacon he's a pillock.

(victory) Rally Sport IIRC. There is a sticky on the history of it somewhere I think :D

Chris

Victory Rally Sport?

Not sure about the v, heard of the 'victory' theory. The RS is supposedly for Renn Sport

Just tell your mate its a Very Rapid Skoda (and that he's a pill0ck)

it's all about when Ford took Skoda to court for using the RS symbol some time ago in thier older model.

Skoda won the case and then rubbed it in by changing it anyway to VRS.

(V) for "Victory" in court case with Ford ® for "rallye" (S) for "sport"

Skoda lost the case, which is why they couldn't use the RS they originally wanted to (and do across Europe)! Go Ford!!! ;):P:rofl:

See http://www.briskoda.net/forums/general-car-chat/rs-rallye-sport-racing-sport/75825/ :D

Chris

It does not say anything about a court case? it just said Ford did not like the idea. They went to court Skoda won and then they changeed it to VRS anyway :D

have a look on lexus nexus or some other article collection and you will find the right answer:thumbup:

It's all conspiracy anyway I wouldn't worry, nothing to be ashamed about, it's just a badge.

i was also wondering about this the other day.

Yeah, here in Portugal, and also in Spain, it's simply known as Fabia RS - although the green V is in the badge

Same in India too. They have a Octavia RS.

I doubt Ford would let this happen if they won:P

Subaru sell a Legacy RS in Japan. I wonder if they had the same thing with Ford?
