1.4 how can I tell if it is a PD engine

Featured Replies

I have a 1.4 TDI bought in Italy under the model name Urban with 51 kW of power. Is this a PD engine and what is the difference between this unit and the 59 kW one.

Thanks

Jeff

It sounds like a PD to me. Can you post a pic of the engine without the engine cover on? Should be able to tell then. :)

They're all PD's aren't they? Never heard of a 1.4 low pressure TDi.....

Yes its a PD unit, just with 70ps.

It would be PD.

The kW power is the difference from what I can see, yours will be slightly less power than the other one.

There are a few variants of the 1.4 PD engine, but all the recent VAG 1.4 diesels are PD. :)

All Fabia diesel engines are PD (aside from the SDi).
