Back 'o' The Net My Son!!!

Featured Replies

I picked up my vRS at 5.30 tonight and YABBADABBADOO! am I pleased with it!

Picked it up from Mitchells.....lovely hand over. However, sadly, Zdenka is leaving the dealership in two weeks. This is a pity as she has been brilliant.

The car drives really well and looks better than I expected...pictures don't do em justice.

Just one thing, when I got home moticed a build up of condensation in my front headlamps at the bottom. Is this a known problem? Will it clear? or am I back to the dealers early in the morning?

Many thanks,

M

Glad you're happy with the purchase :D

I used to get condensation in the headlamps too, but after a week or so it went away

If it keeps doing it I'd say get down't dealers for a warranty fix.

BTW what are you doing posting on here? Get out and run it in ;)

Why are you still online!!!

I'm still in the house cos my wife has just brought our 4 month old son James home from a visit to his Grandmother's. I want to have a play with him and I'm on bottle washing duties.....apparrently!

James seemed impressed with the car, well the key and key ring anyway! :)

Thanks for the advice the advice there Harry.

May have to 'abandon' my wife and son for a bit later on if they both fall asleep! ;)

Sounds to me like you have some issues to address with your good lady regarding priorities!! :P

The misty headlights must be a known fault. I had both of mine replaced under warranty but the new ones still seem to do it - not often though.

Sorry to post again but......

Should have checked my insurance cover note sent to the dealer to tax the car. Has me down as driving a "Superb Classic TDi 100". Makes me wonder cos prior to buying the car, it took me nearly an hour on the phone to a call center located in another country just to get get the lady on the end to accurately record the exact car I was going to drive. I checked so many times because she kept getting it wrong so many times. Dreadful staff training it seems. She promised to ring me back after consuting the undermonkeys, and didn't.

Meanwhile I' am trying to get through a days teaching. At lunch I called back and had a shorter, but not by much, conversation with a chap who seemed to know more. Apparetlly sorted.

Rang for my covernote this Wed and cos I was rushing I asked him to refer to the note on my file. Should have gone through the details again....especially as this time.......due to the time of the year, he said.....I would pay less than originally quoted.

He duly sends cover note. Dealer, hands it to me, says nothing. I don't read it properly till now.

Strictly speaking, technically, I suppose they could claim I'm not insured if I had an accident.

When I ring tomorrow, there had beter be no nasty surprises!

It really is shoddy!

But I should have checked to be honest.

Congratumalations ont new vehicle. Hope you have many hours of cleaning and polishing, parking across two bays at supermarket to avoid door dings, driving round for hours trying to avoid spaces where there may well be a possibility of bird poo, taking your keys to bed and sleeping with them stuffed under your pillow, shouting at the kids / wife for dropping things on the upholstery, walking away from the car and glancing at it at least 3 times when you park it, staring at it out of the lounge window, checking the weather to see if it's gonna rain / snow, Running it in, Just testing it ever so slightly, rubbing mystery marks from the dash, worrying when you leave it in a public car park, Filling it up with expensive petrol and also steering away from pot holes an that.:D

Not another Race Blue one?. Enjoy your new car sir

Thanks for all the kind wishes guys, much appreciated.

Due to, shall we say, in the kindest possible way.....a 'communication breakdown' with the Insurance company agent located in a different country, the one that I called to check my new premium before buying the vRS......I did get a nasty surprise this AM. A £200 nasty surprise!

You can imagine the tone of the conversation I had and my reaction in switching companies as soon as poss!

It seems if you ask a direct question 3 times to confirm what has just been said to you there is little chance of getting an accurate answer. How can this type of error be allowed to happen?

Car is utterly brilliant by the way.....hard not to resist flooring it at every opportunity at the moment! :)

EDIT: First thing I did was replace the dealer sticker with a Briskoda one!

Cheers,

M
