Just bought an Octy Vrs

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Well fortunately my trip down to Crawley Down Group didn't prove to be a wasted one.

I've bought a Black 04 plate Vrs. It has the xenons but unfortunately doesn't have cruise or parking sensors but I'm going to have those retro fitted when I get it.

I pick it up next Sunday.

Spoke to John there who was very helpful. A nice touch was that Chris the owner of the garage made the effort to pop across and say hello etc.

They did what I feel to be a good deal and hopefully they will do all the work we have agreed on to a good standard.

The superb ran a dream down there and back. a 560 mile round trip.

Really looking forward to getting it now. :D

It's done 39000 miles.

Cheers

Good luck with the Octavia :D

Nice.

I bought a 20k mile 2003 vRS last year as a second car and its been great.

Hope all goes well for you.

So is that another 500 mile trip in the Superb next weekend?

The trip back should be more interesting for you? Unless you are letting the wife drive the vRS back?..

Nice one, you won't regret getting one with Xenon's! Cruise and parking sensors are easy enough to fit, mine has had both done (previous owner did cruise and I did parking sensors). I would recomend both.

Enjoy the car.

Enjoy the vRS.

Cheers All,

Yep we are of down in the Superb to pick it up on Sunday. Really looking forward to it.

Carolyn nearly bought a vRS over the Superb but the practicality and fuel efficiency won over. We decided to go for the vRS as my daily drive so we could have a bit of fun with it. It also has the four doors and decent boot so all the stuff associated with our young boy fits too.

It's only cos I really wanted the xenons that we have travelled that far.

There was someone advertising on ebay who is in Hull who can do the cruise so that is handy.

How difficult are the parking sensors to fit??

Cheers

All you do is fit them into the black trim.

Drill the holes and fit then, wire into rear speakers and reverse light what from a found out

You can buy an OEM kit for sensors on the Octy - they are well worth buying.

OEM parking sensors.............Mmmmm, not for my car, but might be worth looking into........anymore info Mr Stu?

We were talking MK1 Ken but there is a kit for the MKII which is what I presume you are reffering to.

MK1 kit is BEA 300 001

MK II kit is BEA 609 001

Sorry to do it but does anyone have a price of those?

See them from time to time on fleabay for 80 sheets which is tempting

Was hoping to pick the car up tomorrow but unfortunately it isn't quite ready. In fairness the dealer is going over it with a fine toothcomb and are fixing anything I might not be happy with. Much as I'm gutted to not pick it up yet I am quite pleased that they are being thorough with it. They have also kept me informed of the progress which I was surprised about. Keeping my fingers crossed now though I am getting it on Wednesday all being well.

must admit I'm really looking forward to bringing it home.

Cheers

Hope it all goes well. Is it staying standard?

Hiya,

It is staying standardto begin with. It has warranty and stuff so I'll wait till that runs out. I'll also have a chance to get used to it and decide on what it needs. Plus it will give me a chance to build some funds back up.

I love modifiying my cars and both my esprits are suitably doctored lol. Carolyn is also debating what to do to her superb!!

Cheers
