Hello, and advice please

Featured Replies

Hi all

Firstly wanted to say hello. I have a 02 Fabia 1.9Tdi elegance which I love. However, it does now have a really irritating problem.

The internal heater has gone beserk. Randomly it will be baking hot when it's set to cold, or even if the air con's on. It's beginning to drive me mad, and I'm fed up of it burning my face!

I've searched for advice on the forum, but I'm still not sure whether it's a sensor or a thermostat problem. The engine heater gauge is working ok.

Thanks guys

I would say your problem will be the flap motors. You see plenty of reference to them if you search.

Does the recirc switch itself off?

Yes the recirc keeps switching itself off. I'll do a search for the flap motors thanks.

Welcome. As a cheap "might help" thing, you could try vacumning the 2 grilles in the climate control panel, and the sunlight sensor (bulge in centre top of facia).

Thanks but it doesn't have climate control just basic air con. Will try the sensor though.

Ah, I'd presumed it would have full climate, like my 52 Octy Elegance does.
