BT Car kit - unable to connect to speakers?

Featured Replies

I recently had a Nokia CK-7W bluetooth car kit installed in my Octy II vRS, and the company that fitted it said that it wouldn't come through the speakers as there was no facility to do this on the standard Stream head unit. Is this correct? Seems strange to me that this facility wouldn't be available. Or do you have to get another part to fit in between the head unit and the car kit for this to work?

Hello Dave,

I'm not sure what the score is with this problem but if you give Joe a call on 01752 221989, Plymouth Car Sound. They are very helpful and know their S*#t. Might be able to help you.

It's nothing to do with the headunit, the car kit is wired directly to the speakers. Parrot kits come with all the connectors to fit in line between the speakers and HU. Either the Nokia kit doesn't have the necessary wiring or the fitter is talking crap.

The fitter is talking cr@p. However he would have needed another plug which I suspect they don't carry hence the fob off.

Mine is connected directly to the Headunit, no special leads or interfaces - just plugged in.

Do you know what the plug is and where I could get it from? They were saying something about there not being a mute on the head unit - is this correct?

If you look on the Stream connections label there is a speaker connection marked + & - (I think Line In?)

The fitter who installed mine (also a CK7W) just cut off the standard piddly little Nokia speaker and connected the two core cable directly into the Quadlock connector on the rear of the HU.

The Stream MP3 and the Stream are slightly different -

Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide

You need a plug and wires, the part numbers for which are here -

Aha, so as I have a Stream MP3, do I need both of the following parts?:

12 Pin Green Flat Contact Housing (Plug) Radio/Telephone Connection - 3B7 035 447 B -

You need both parts no matter what radio you have it's simple the telemute thats connected differently.

You'll need to order them.
