Im contemplating trying to fit a 12c socket into the cubbyhole under the steering wheel where the OBD port is.

I keep SatNav on the right of the windscreen (much prefer ot there) and getting fed up of the power cable getting in my way.

Has anyone done this already?

IIRC it would be right next to the fusebox anyway so that might make it easier.

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to wire it into the fusebox or general tips on the best way to go about it?

One of those would be nice indeed! Push it to pop it out, and push it back in again. Available in black also...

EDIT - damn. Go to "Online shop" then "VW" then "Passat" then "electrical", and there is a flip out power socket about the 4th item down.
