Recently I have been getting this light come one when all doors are shut and the car is cold (i.e. just got in in the morning and the door light is still on)

I have read from other posts that this can be due to water ingress in the drivers door?

is there a guide for stripping the door down and drying it out before it gets any worse? if this is at all possible?

if it is corrosion in the door, it may be repairable but it depends how far the rot has set in. the door card comes off easy enough its just a case of locating all the screws and unplugging stuff as you go along
