I would put myself in that category. Very satisfied with my 2.0fsi

Skoda topped a similar survey in Norway last year. By far the best car in all round owner satisfaction.

I have had my first Skoda, a 07 Octy estate 2.0tdi DSG L&K, for three weeks now and I am very satisfied with the car so far.

Sadly you will still get the 'perception ' argument.The only reason that skoda tops polls is that people went out and bought a car they expected to be poor and it exceeded all expectations so they told Auto express.

Doesn't explain the rightly satisfied Honda Lexus and BMW owners also at the top of the poll,nor does the argument explain the usual suspects at the bottom of the list;)

Not sure where SEAT have come on this poll, but they normally come comfortably mid table.

As with Skoda, the dealer network is a bit hit and miss. Some poor dealers and some excellent dealers. I have owned Seats for 6 years and have been more than happy with them, save for some niggles (eg coil packs, cd changers packing up etc etc). Hoping Skoda ownership will be the same.

Do people really buy cars expecting them to be poor? I purchased a Skoda because I expected it to be at the very least, excellent.

Of course, anything new can be a dud, but on the whole, apart from test driving cars, you do your research and research for about the last 5 or 6 years has proved that Skoda have been better than most and I should add that when I do these type of surveys, I make it be known if there is any problems with both the car and the dealer.

Just came back from leafing through the AutoExpress poll. The Golf was about 9th I think. Trouble is, they are talking about a "range", not one model of car. You can't really equate the vRS with the 1.9TD. but I guess if it is owner satisfaction they are talking about, it must cut across the model variations.

Octy didn't come top in anything, it just came very high up nearly all the categories so averaged out top. (I think "comfort" was its lowest point - how odd for a "satisfaction" poll)

The Honda 2000, that just pipped Octy 2 last year, came second this year.
