Just popped the car in at a tyre place to get the balancing done, had a few shakes at 70 ish, the mechanic points out a rear tyre thats cracked and falling to bits, fair enough,

I had a 1 valve replaced today and the wheel rebalanced and that cost me £10. I got ripped off.

No, always best to get your brakes done asap. My fronts need doing soonish as possbile thinking about it.

If you're even vaguely mechanically minded brakes are quite an easy thing to work on. Obviously there are safety issues if you're not too sure though.

As a guess I would say pads and discs would come to less than

would agree entirely with felicia 1.6T disks and pads are doable in half a lunch break and parts are NOT expensive for these cars.

my brakes cost £155 for parts (perfomance disks/pads) and a tea brake to fit it all.

Since joining Briskoda its given me the confidence to tackle such jobs.

Never touched my brakes before, always left it to the garages.

But i did my rears with info and help from here and due to tackle the front sometime soon to.

They are easier than you think, as long as you have prepared all the tools needed.
