What platform does the Roomster use in terms of VAG-Com - is it the Fabia version or the new Octy version?

I don't think it is supported yet.

In terms of cable I would imagine CANBUS.

In general the Roomster is based on the same platform as the Fabia, it uses strictly K-line and no CAN. Even though this means older versions like 311/409 should work, the official support starts with Beta 702 resp. Release 704, from then on there is an Auto-Scan entry for this model and also label files for some of the control modules already - more files will be added with future updates, as usual.

Strange how they've opted for the older K-Line technology on that one then Sebastian. Do you know what the new Fabia will use?

Just got back from an extensive test session with the new Fabia, now there isn't much to say - except, it's completely like the Roomster. Even the chassis code which appears in the VIN is the same for both (5J).

The K-line itself isn't that bad and unless there is a need to switch to CAN, why should they? Their idea is to make cheap but reliable cars, the old Fabia was reliable and had most of the technical stuff the customers wanted.
