A few months ago, one of my keys for my 1.6 FSI Elegance hatch would not ope the car.

could open the boot and lock the car but could not open the car with the remote. After a few days, managed to follow the guidelines in the book and get it working again.

Over the weekend, the exact same thing happened to BOTH of my keys. One on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Just been down to my local dealer who changed the batteries but that did not make any difference so they have ordered me two new keys under warranty which will be here for next Wednesday and it's a case of having the keys configured which they say should take about 30 minutes max.

We all seem a bit confused by this as even the LEDs were not working at all.

How strange eh especially as the car is only 8 months old.

If both keys failed I would have thought it was more likley to be a fault (perhaps intermittent) with the receiver unit in the car?

If the LED's arent flashing then the key isnt sending a signal, so thus can only be the key or its battery.

Yes, that was what the dealer said after changing the battery. Obviously a problem with the keys.

Going down after work to collect new ones and have them programmed (?) to work with my car so I hope they will be ok.
