What car next?

Featured Replies

Yesterday I got frustrated with the Fab because it just wasn't fast enough :rolleyes:so I've been putting some serious thought into getting something new. I like the Fabia and appreciate I bought it as a slightly more sensible car the the Ibiza (cheaper insurance, slightly softer suspension and I made money from the change in cars) as I was moving house at the time but I can't shake the feeling that I want something different...

I've been thinking of getting another Ibiza TDi Sport/FR or a Leon or something else with the PD130 lump.

Whatever I get has got to be another diesel and I'm on a budget of about

Why would you want a car with the same engine if the Fabia isn't fast enough?

For £6k I imagine you could pick up a Golf GT-TDi 150 albeit with highish miles. Also a 330d (180bhp one). Sadly all highish powered diesels for that money will have high miles.

So you can lose money (changing your car always loses you money whatever you do!!) and have a car that's basically the same?

Does it HAVE to be a diesel?

Spend 4-5k on a nice fast petrol car and use the change to fund the poorer economy and higher tax  You only live once ;)

Fast, Japanese & silly is where it's at!!!

PM Oilburninnut if you need something cheap that fits that description!

Get a Ibiza Cupra PD160. It's the same engine (more or less) and can be mapped to about 200BHP. Still give you decent enough economy but I'm not sure how much you'll pay
