Fabia Fog light-changing bulb

Featured Replies

Noticed tonight that one of the fog lights in my fabia (1.2 HTP) is not working.

Is it an easy and straight forward task to replace it???

Not sure what it is like on your model of Fabia but the Vrs bulb is best done with the bumper off.

This is reasonably strsight forward to do if you have the room to do it. If you do it can I recommend getting some Osram All Season bulbs to you. They are brill in fog.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to clarify how it is done on your model.

On my Tdi it is dead easy to change the bulbs - with the bumber in place. My foglights are rectangular ish with a rounded corner on the outside. Next to the light is a black plastic grill which is removed by inserting a flat bladed screw driver just under the top edge of the plastic to press down the plastic spring tabs. There are two tabs which need to be pressed down and the grill pulls out from the top. The foglight housing is held in place by 2 torkx screws which are easily undone. On my car the ambient temperature sensor is held in place by the upper mounting screw. Anyway, having undone the two mounting screws the light housing is easily removed and access to the bulb is via a gray plastic cap underneath which is ametal spring. This makes sense "in the flesh". Re-assembly is areverse of dissambley (as Haynes famously say, but it really is). I reckon it has taken longer to type this note than to change a bulb in my foglight. The whole process is set out in the Instruction Book. Can't see why I would need to take the bumper off but the VRS might be different from my car.
