vRS free equipment upgrade and servicing

Featured Replies

Just had a look at the Skoda website. They are now doing a deal on new vRS with free 18" and jumbo box/rear leccy windows, and free servicing for 3 years/30,000 miles. All in all worth a fair bit.

A little gutted as still haven't taken delivery of mine.

Do you reckon the dealer should throw these in now?

Hmmm...not particularly clear on the website whether the equipment upgrade/ free servicing is only if you take out the finance. Not so bothered if that is the case, because there are interest charges and excess mileage charges. But if not...:thumbdwn:

Reading the small print - the free stuff won't apply to cars built before the end of June.

The servicing has no date though...

Gonna be popping into the dealer tonight & going on the blag i think....my order is only 1wk old...

MPM :D

The date was June 2006 - ie when they started building the 07 model year cars to which the offer applies.

My order is almost 10 weeks old, and I still think I will be mentioning it as I haven't taken delivery. Anyone else been told about this offer?

I picked my car up on the 24th of march and i didnt get any of the free upgrades:mad:

I would have to ask how free these extras are. When I was looking to buy a new vRS about a month ago I was able to get the dealer to knock

Offer applies to all new Octavia (A5) vRS models. Equipment upgrade contains; 18" Zenith alloy wheels, Rear electric windows, Dual zone air conditioning and Jumbo box. Jumbo box includes air-conditioned storage compartment with an adjustable armrest between the front seats and 3.5mm jack socket (model year 07 vehicles only - from week commencing 29/06/06). Model shown is New Octavia vRS Hatchback 2.0 FSI 200bhp including optional metallic paint at £350RRP. Retail sales only.

The offer is listed seperately on the site, with free servicing on the solutions scheme for £199/month. And then on its own as just a free upgrade offer.

But I agree, you could probably do a deal to match this anyway.

Three years or 30,000 mile free servicng is hardly a big deal on an Octavia 2 anyhow, basically they are giving you a couple of oil filters at best...lol

Hi Guys,

I placed my order on the end of march. After reading this thead i contacted Skoda UK and they said that any VRS registered before the 30th of june ie delivered with a reg number (numberplate) will get these free upgrades. However the dealer needs to add the promotional code to the order. Therefore the dealer would of known about this at the end of feb. So in theory anybody who's put and order for a vrs in march should contact there dealers and get them to add the promotional code in as they should of told you about this.

I have contacted my dealer and told him that he should of told me about this promotion when i ordered my car, and he has changed my order now to include these free upgrades and this has not changed my delivery date of mid june.

I hope this helps

Ricky

How likely are the Skoda dealer to be up for a bit of a haggle on this deal?

It was a VRS Octavia on the Solutions finance that peaked my interest in the car. I'm not sure how flexible they would be if I was trying to haggle on one of their 'special' finance packages.

In my favor I've 3-4 Skoda dealers within an hours drive to try to play off each other.

Anyone got an opinion on the Solutions finance? I've never had anything but straight repayment before.

Cheers mate,

Good to know at least there is some room to maneuver even on that deal.
