Cassette adapter

Featured Replies

I have tried to use a cassette adapter in my octy with the original tape radio set up, I wanted to run mp3's ( via portable device ) through it but have a prob. It keeps clicking & switching on the display to side A & B like it has auto reverse on constantly. has anybody else found this problem as it makes it unusable, too noisy plus prob, wear on the tape player part. I may upgrade the set up in the future but was after this as a short term measure. there is no problem with the adapter in another make car.

Tape adapters can be dodgy. You need a good one to work well. I also have one in the Fabia as a stop gap and it is incredibly good for a change!

Tape adaptors can be dodgy in auto-reverse cassette players. Auto reverse systems usually sense the the tape movement sprockets to decide if the tape has reached an end-of-side. If there isn't a real tape in the mechanism, the sprockets don't rotate and the controller thinks it's reached an end-of-side. It reverses the tape travel, still doesn't see any tape movement, reverses, and so on...

try using ian old one... that worked ok....?
